The generic name of the blue crab, Callinectes, is Greek for "beautiful swimmer." With that being the case, the claw of these swimmers is just as beautiful (if not potentially hurtful to an ungloved watermen).
Made by award-winning photojournalist Rob Ostermaier, this moment showcases a Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab as it was harvested by a waterman on the Middle Peninsula of Virginia.
